Debinding of additively manufactured parts from spinel powders with particle sizes below 200 nm

چکیده
The widespread application of additive manufacturing in ceramics is still hindered by recurrent cracking issues during debinding. To date, the various strategies that have been attempted to reduce this problem often fail upon particle size reduction. Indeed, a reduction affects diffusion rates (e.g. pore network) such even slow heating and long dwell times debinding may not prevent crack formation. In study, analysis curing behavior magnesium aluminate spinel different acrylates one methacrylate was performed. Crack formation analyzed combining thermal effects with FTIR dilatometry data. strategy exothermal through addition propylene carbonate (i.e. non-reactive diluent) evaluated.

Areal Surface Texture Data Extraction from X-ray Computed Tomography Reconstructions of Metal Additively Manufactured Parts
Many applications that exploit the manufacturing flexibility of additive manufacturing (AM) produce surfaces, primarily internal features, which cannot be measured using conventional contact or line-ofsight optical methods. This paper evaluates the capability of a novel technique to extract areal surface data from micro-focus X-ray computed tomography (XCT) from AM components and then generate ...

This paper presents the results of the CT-STARR (CT-Surface Texture for Additive Round Robin) interlaboratory comparison. The study compares the results obtained for the extraction of areal surface texture data per ISO 25178-2 from five X-ray computed tomography (XCT) volume measurements from each of four laboratories. To reduce the number of process variables, all participants utilise a Nikon ...
متن کاملApproaches to Geometric Data Analysis on Big Area Additively Manufactured (baam) Parts
The promise of additive manufacturing is that a user can design and print complex geometries that are very difficult, if not impossible, to machine. The capabilities of 3D printing are restricted by a number of factors, including properties of the build material, time constraints, and geometric design restrictions. In this paper, a thorough accounting and study of the geometric restrictions tha...

Honeycombs resemble the structure of a number of natural and biological materials such as cancellous bone, wood, and cork. Thick honeycomb could be also used for energy absorption applications. Moreover, studying the mechanical behavior of honeycombs under in-plane loading could help understanding the mechanical behavior of more complex 3D tessellated structures such as porous biomaterials. In ...
